Charity of the Year 2011-12 The children in Key Stage 2, who normally vote for our Charity of The Year have suggested that the school should support Willow Wood Hospice in memory of Mrs. Burton. Willow Wood is a very local charity and Mrs Burton’s family were extremely grateful to the Hospice for their help and support. The Hospice is for people who live in Tameside and there are not many families who do not know someone who has benefitted from the support and care the hospice offers |
. |
The Hospice is a charity and requires £2 million a year to run and yet patients are never charged for its services and much of its costs are met by fund raising events. I think the children’s idea of supporting the hospice is wonderful and I am sure we will all be determined to raise as much money as possible. |

Pennine Telecoms are top of the class! |
We are very fortunate that our telephone and wireless network provider Pennine Telecommunications have bought the school a Nintendo Wii. This will be great for the school as we will be able to use it with children to improve hand/eye co-ordination, excercise and social interaction. |
We have been working with Pennine for some time and have made great improvements to the school networks. Click here to find out more about Pennine. |
